Life Story

I was born in China and moved to the U.S. at the age of 7 with my parents and older brother(he went to the U of M too). I grew up in a very small town about an hour and a half west of the Twin Cities in Litchfield, MN.

I only wanted to go to the University of Minnesota for my college education, so I sweet talked a lot of teachers for my A's(along with some B's) and was accepted into the U of M.

I graduated after 4 wonderful years from CSOM and started my human resource career path, but after a year or so, I knew I wanted to be back working at the U of M with students. I employed the same strategy again by sweet talking whoever I could and getting my master's degree at the U of M, which led to my current role at the Career and Internship Services. My career goal now is to continue working with students and recent graduates to further develop and improve their skills, knowledge, and experiences during their time at the U of M!

Out Of Work Obsessions

Lots of swing dancing, tennis, basketball, Twizzlers, and any other paddle/racquet sports, some Netflix, a little mahjong, a little traveling, and seeing family and friends.

Funny Thing

I really like to give myself and other people multiple, awesome, awkward, and maybe likeable nicknames. Ask me for a nickname sometime!

Best Part Of College Experience

The relationships I've cultivated with my friends and family, the knowledge, education, and experiences I've acquired, and discoveries I've made about myself.

Personal Success Story

I took a lot of risk not taking positions in the private industries to hold out for a position at the Career and Internship Services department. I am still very, very glad that I waited and now I am doing something that I am passionate about.

What's The One Thing You Would Do, If You Were Able To Do It?

Speak French or be forever 21.

Individual(s) You Most Admire

My parents - both are very hard working, compassionate, and somewhat fun and funny people that I hope to be more like. I want to model myself after them when I have my own family.

Best Words Of Advice For Students

Be nice, be active, and be open to different people, ideas, and experiences. Also, don't be afraid of challenges and hard work!
