Life Story

I was born in China and moved to the U.S. at the age of 7 with my parents and older brother. I grew up in a very small town about an hour and a half west of the Twin-Cities in Litchfield, MN.

I only wanted to go to the University of Minnesota for my college education, so I sweet talked a lot of teachers for my A's and joined whatever club I could join to make myself look good. After doing all of that, I was accepted into the U.

I graduated from the U after 4 wonderful years and started to work right away, but after a few years, I knew I wanted to be back at the U. I employed the same strategy again by sweet talking whoever I could and joining all the right groups, which led to my current role at the Career and Internship Services. While working at Career and Internship Services, I also got my master's degree in Human Resource Development at the U. My career goal is to continue working with students and recent graduates to further develop and improve their skills, knowledge, and experiences in a HR or Higher Education setting.

Out Of Work Obsessions

Hanging out with friends, playing tennis, basketball, and any other paddle/racquet sports, reading, and going to three movies in one day.

Funny Story

I gave myself and other people various awesome and likeable nicknames. Ask me for a nickname if you see me!

Best Part Of College Experience

The relationships that you cultivate with your friends, the knowledge and experiences you acquire, and discoveries you make about yourself.

Personal Sucess Story

I took a lot of risk not taking positions in the private industries to hold out for a position at the Career and Internship Services department when I knew I had a chance at it. I am very very glad that I waited and now I am doing something that I am very passionate about.

What's The One Thing You Would Do, If You Were Able To Do It?

Speak French or be forever 21.

Individual(s) You Most Admire

My parents - both are very hard working, compassionate, and moral people that I hope to be more like. I want to model myself after them when I have my own family.

Best Words Of Advice For Students

Be nice, be active, and be open to different people, ideas, and experiences. Also, don't be afraid of challenges and hard work!
