Life Story

Originally from Bloomington, MN (Go Jags), I made the far trek to St. Joseph, MN to complete my undergraduate degree at the College of St. Benedict/ St. John’s University. I studied psychology, studied abroad, joined a club or two, taught an Introduction to Psychology lab, lived with all my best friends, and graduated in four years.

Then I thought to myself, “Four years of college just isn’t enough.” So, I applied for the College Counseling and Student Development Master’s Program at St. Cloud State University. As apart of my program, I have the opportunity to intern in the Career and Internship Services office for one year (and I could not be more excited).

Out of Work Obsession(s)

Traveling! I’ve travelled to 15 countries. Some others include personality assessments, watching heist movies, being outside (*when it’s nice out), drinking coffee, and spending time with family and friends.

Funny Story

In college, chicken patties were my favorite thing to eat at the dining hall. I loved them so much that I once I tried to smuggle a few out to have later that day. My stealth failed me and when a  worker caught me, I was informed that under no circumstances was I allowed to bring food out of the dining hall. Then, I was asked to, “please leave.” For the rest of the year, my friends called me the Chicken Patty Bandit.

Personal Success Story

I’ve always been passionate about informational interviewing. When I was applying for graduate school, I jumped on the opportunity to set up a meeting with an alumni and chat with her about her role as Director of the Career Center and her journey through the program I would soon start. Little did I know that later that year, I would be interviewing for a graduate assistantship position in that same office. In the interview, I mentioned that I previously met with the Director for an informational interview, and I believe that set me apart from the rest of the candidates. I found out I got the job a couple of days later!

Favorite Place in the Whole World

My favorite places I’ve visited are Salzburg, Austria or Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia. My favorite place in the world is with my family and friends.
