Life Story

I went to St. Cloud State University and got my undergraduate degree in Business Management, enjoyed my time there so much I stayed for my graduate degree in College Counseling & Student Development.  I worked in residential life and academic advising, but once I started guiding students in their career development I haven't looked back.

Out Of Work Obsessions

Travel.  Oddly, I've been to more countries than states, currently sitting at 35.  I enjoy it so much I actually quit my job to travel throughout Europe and the Middle East for six months before landing in Career & Internship Services.

Favorite Place in the Whole World

That's a tough one, but I think I have to go with New Zealand.  I took a 10-day road trip around the south island where the mountains and glacial lakes are breathtaking.  It's a peaceful, laid-back place, which I love, and if you're an adrenaline junkie the white water rafting and bungee jumping are awesome.

Something you Wish you had more Time for

Scuba diving.  I got certified when I was 13 years old and have gotten back into the hobby as an adult.  I have had the chance to dive in the Caribbean, the Great Barrier Reef and most recently the Red Sea when I went to Israel and Jordan.  Living in Minnesota, I never feel like I get to do this enough.

What's The One Thing You Would Do, If You Were Able To Do It?

Somehow I still have skydiving on my bucket list.

Best Words Of Advice For Students

I've met with a ton of students who went to college to get into a good career, yet very few gave themselves time to truly reflect upon what life after graduation looks like.  Make time for yourself to think things through and please contact us for help.  You owe it to yourself to find work that's meaningful.
